Description
This archive lists the taxa for which there are trait data in the FAIRTraits_TraitValues Occurence archive deposited on the GBIF portal. This, and the other files which constitute the FAIRtraits database, are described in detail in a data paper submitted to the journal "Ecology".
The current Checklist archive gives selected features of these taxa, mostly taken from the "Flore de la France méditerranéenne continentale" (2014; J.-M. Tison, P. Jauzein & H. Michaud. Naturalia Publications, Turriers, France). The full list of variables (name in the original data file mapped with Darwin Core fields in brackets) and their definitions are given below:
SpeciesName (acceptedNameUsage): Name of species taken from a local flora (latin binomial without authority)
taxonRank (taxonRank): The taxonomic rank of the most specific name identifying a taxon
CodeSp (taxonID): Identification code of the species (4 first letters of genus name and 4 first letters of species name)
Kingdom (kingdom): The full scientific name of the kingdom in which the taxon is classified (here: Plantae for all taxa)
Family (family): The botanical family of species
LifeCycle1 (LifeCycleUnstructured): Primary life cycle of species (annual, monocarpic perennial, perennial)
LifeCycle2 (not mapped; available in original file): Secondary life cycle of species (annual, monocarpic perennial, perennial), if any
LifeForm1 (LifeFormUnstructured): Pimary life form of species sensu Raunkiaer (1934)
LifeForm2 (not mapped; available in original file): Secondary life form of species sensu Raunkiaer (1934), if any
SuccessionalStage (HabitatUnstructured): Successional Stage Indicator Value
PlantHeight (NaturalHistoryUnstructured): Lower (MinHeight) and higher (MaxHeight) values of plant height taken from a local flora
FloweringStart (StartTimeInterval): Beginning of flowering period (month)
FloweringEnd (EndTimeInterval): End of flowering period (month)
PhotosyntheticPathway (TrophicStrategy): primary mode of atmospheric carbon dioxide fixation of the taxon (C3, C4, CAM)
Chorology (DistributionUnstructured): Geographic distribution of species
scientificName (scientificName): Scientific name of the species with authority
nameAccordingTo (nameAccordingTo): Identifiant number of the species in TaxRefv16 referential
scientificNameID (scientificNameID): Uniform Resource Identifier of the species in TaxRefv16 referential
Data Records
The data in this checklist resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 240 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
